Copyrights & Permissions

"Our Canada" and "More of Our Canada" magazines are publications of Reader's Digest Magazines Limited.

All of the material published by Reader's Digest Magazines Limited and its affiliates is protected under copyright law. Any unauthorized use constitutes an infringement. Written permission from the publisher is required if you wish to reproduce, distribute, transmit or otherwise use RD material.

Please note RD policy does not permit use of any of its material in any electronic media, nor does it allow its material to be further edited, condensed or translated. RD does not allow its editorial contents to be used for commercial or fund-raising purposes.

To obtain permission to use material from any Reader's Digest magazine or book, a request must be directed to us in writing. We are unable to grant verbal permissions.

Your request should be as detailed as possible, and must include the following information:

A. Information about RD product:

• Title and author of RD product
• The specific material you wish to use (please identify images by page number and position, and text by page number and opening and closing lines)
• Copies of the copyright, credits, and acknowledgements pages (if available)

B. How you will use RD material in your project:

• State exactly for what purpose you are requesting permission
• Format you will use (i.e., book, magazine, newsletter, classroom, etc.)
• Your project title
• Territory of distribution for your project (i.e., Canada, U.S., worldwide)
• Print run and price (if known)
• Publication date of your project
• Name of your company (i.e., publisher)

In addition, we will need the following information for image requests:

• Image size
• Position (i.e., cover, inside, etc.)
• Use (editorial)

C. Information about you:

• Your Name
• Your company/school/organization name
• Mailing address
• Phone number
• Email address
• Fax number, if you have one

Incomplete requests cannot be processed.

All requests require approximately 6 to 8 weeks for research and reply.

Fees
Each request is evaluated on an individual basis. In most cases a permission fee is charged.
